At Green Building Renewables we are growing rapidly and are looking out for people to join our team as we form a nationwide network of renewable energy experts across England.

Due to the swell of demand for solar and exciting company acquisitions across England, we require experienced Solar Panel Surveyors with great customer service skills for our various offices around England.

Product training will be given allowing you to cost and plan the installation of solar panel systems including batteries and car chargers. Suited to a driven and resourceful individual, you will be helping assess customer’s properties (both domestic and commercial), cost the systems accurately and communicate with the customer and fittings team to ensure a swift and efficient installation by identifying and avoiding potential problems.

Job Purpose

We require our Solar Panel Surveyors to survey the customer’s property on-site or on-line and design and cost solar panel systems that meet customer requirements, avoid potential problems and provide information for the installations teams ensuring efficient and safe fitting.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertakes customer visits, working from plans or conducting remote surveys to measure the dimensions of roof areas (for example, internal, external or interior of the loft)
  • Identifies and addresses obstructions.
  • Takes photos of key areas.
  • Considers cable runs between panels, inverter, batteries and home electrical supply.
  • Identifies potential locations of equipment in discussion with the customer.
  • Prepares reports summarising the proposal and highlights concerns or issues pertinent to the job.
  • Uses the wholesaler portal to generate a supplier quote for the parts required.
  • Generates a draft quotation in the finance system.
  • Completes proforma reports to illustrate estimated energy generation and customer financial benefit.

Education & qualifications

Essential

  • Attained 5 O’Levels / GSCE qualifications grades A-C.
  • Full Driving License

Desirable

  • Recently qualified as a Domestic Energy Assessor.

Work Experience

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment, having direct contact with the customer.
  • Experience of working with solar panels and battery storage.
  • Competence in using spreadsheets to build solar panel quotes
  • Ability to work at heights
