Management Account wanted at Green Building Renewables YORK. We are growing rapidly and are looking out for people to join our team as we form a nationwide network of renewables installers across England.
Due to the swell of demand for renewables and exciting company acquisitions, we require an experienced Management Accountant to join our York Head Office.
We are looking for a financial expert at our York Head Office with the ability and conviction to make decisions of a financial nture and convey them to the wider business in a confident manner. Attention to detail and an ability to communicate clearly are key required attributes as you will be advising, consulting and seeking approval from the Operations Team, Accounts Team and consulting directly with the Managing Director and Sales Team as well as external suppliers, contractors, customers and HMRC.

Job Purpose
The role of the Management Accountant requires an experienced accountant who would report in to the Finance Manager. The Management Accountant role will have responsibility for the nominal ledger, preparing monthly accounts and MI packs and owning balance sheet ensuring reconciliations are complete with balances explained. As a highly acquisitive business, providing lots of opportunity to get involved in wider business projects.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for billing for the Northern region ensuring accurate VAT treatment.
- Undertaking revenue recognition calculations.
- Producing and owning the monthly management accounts pack including insightful commentary.
- Business partnering with the local operations team to maximise revenue and cost saving opportunities.
- Providing accurate & meaningful balance sheet reconciliations with explanations and actions.
- Proposing, implementing & managing business controls to protect company assets as we grow.
- Active participation in business improvement initiatives including on-going development of the company ERP system.
- Carrying out VAT returns.
- Undertaking adhoc duties as required as part of a busy Finance function for a rapidly growing business.
Education & qualifications
Essential
- Part Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA with a hunger to go on and complete the qualification
- Experience producing management accounts
- Proficient user of Microsoft 365 packages including Outlook and Excel
- Knowledge of financial tools
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Proficiency with spreadsheet & accounting software programs
- Organisational skills
- Good personal interaction skills
